SYDNEY, Australia – Roc Oil has updated the offshore Sarawak, Malaysia, Balai Cluster risk service contract program.

Pre-development continues. The Spaoh and West Acis wellhead platforms are completed, and now all wellhead installations are now in place.

During mid-January, drilling and testing of theBalai-2 well was completed, with initial analysis indicating up to 47 m (154 ft) of net hydrocarbons pay in the main target interval, with 40 m (131 ft) of gas pay in the secondary target interval.

The well has been cased and completed in readiness for extended-well testing with an early production vessel (EPV). Conversion of the vessel continued late last year, with sea trials and final commissioning planned for the current quarter.

The vessel is being prepared for deployment on the field to start long-term production testing of the pre-development wells, after the monsoon period has passed.

A rig is about to mobilize to the Spaoh field to drill the Spaoh-2 well.
