Halliburton Energy Services set a drilling record at Unocal's North Pailin platform in the Gulf of Thailand.

Halliburton Energy Services set a drilling record at Unocal's North Pailin platform in the Gulf of Thailand. From spud to final completion, 34 days, Halliburton drilled a record 111,713 ft. A total of 12 wells were drilled at an average measured depth of 9,309 ft at an average bottomhole temperature of 284° F. The overall operating time was 572 hours. Each well was drilled with a deviated 3D design in three sections, 11 3/4 in., 8 1/2 in., and 6 1/8 in.
