CNS lays Niger Delta cables

Subsea cable lay and burial specialist, CNS, has picked up a new installation and commissioning contract from Shell in Nigeria, in addition to its ongoing work for the same company in Nigeria's Cawthorne Channel.

Subsea cable lay and burial specialist, CNS, has picked up a new installation and commissioning contract from Shell in Nigeria, in addition to its ongoing work for the same company in Nigeria's Cawthorne Channel.

For the latter operation, CNS chartered the bargeTeam Oman, equipping it to lay and bury four cables, 55 km long in total, in river water depths of 20 m. The same vessel will be deployed on the new project for the Forcados-Yokri development, where CNS and local partner Eng Rypac will lay two 7.5-km cables.
