Norsk Hydro Produksjon AS, operator of production license 90 in block 35/11 of the Norwegian North Sea, found oil and gas with its wildcat well 35/11-13. The well tested oil at 3,150 b/d.

Hydro drilled the well to 3,266 m TD in 361-m of water using the Deepsea Trym drilling rig. The well, just north of the Fram field, encountered oil and gas in a separate sandstone prospect of Late Jurassic age.

Hydro considers the results positive. The discovery is in an area with developed infrastructure for production and transport of petroleum. Hydro will plug and abandon the well and move the Deepsea Trym to Troll field to drill a production well.

The licensees in production license 90 are operator Norsk Hydro Produksjon AS 25%, Mobil Development Norway AS 25%, Statoil ASA 20%, Idemitsu Petroleum Norge 15%, and Gaz de France Norge AS 15%.
