Offshore staff
(Aberdeen) Venture Production has replaced the offshore loading buoy on the Kittiwake field in the UK North Sea, inherited from previous operator Shell UK Expro. The buoy, which had been used to store oil from Kittiwake and the Mallard and Gadwall subsea satellites, has been replaced by a single anchor loading system, transferred from another UKCS field.
According to Venture, the new system will improve flexibility with regard to shuttle tanker offloading, and should thereby improve production uptime on the Kittiwake platform. Gross output from the Greater Kittiwake Area was recently 18,000 boe/d. However, Gadwall has been temporarily shut in, to accommodate a new water injection well, currently being drilled by the Sedco 704.
