Triton filtration pumps

Triton FPSO equipped with filtration pumps to limit oil discharges to the sea

Offshore staff

(UK) Amarinth is supplying 10 pumps for a new filtration system for the Triton field in the UK North Sea. Wood Group Engineering (North Sea) is installing the system on the Triton FPSO, to treat produced water in line with pending Ospar regulatory changes. The aim is to reduce the amount of oil released into open water.

Woodbridge, UK-based Amarinth produced a hybrid design for its part of the package, based on its 'C' series heavy duty ISO 5199 chemical pumps, but incorporating uprated API 610 bearing brackets. To withstand extended operation for produced water service, wetted parts will me made from super duplex high chromium steel. The pumps will also be fitted with upstream pumping mechanical seals from John Crane that will use sea water to provide a cool, clean buffer fluid to the seal faces.
