Vitaz production platform offshore Sakhalin Island shuts down for winter break

The Vitaz complex in the offshore Sakhalin II license has completed its seventh season in operation, producing a cumulative 12.1 MM bbl of oil. In total, 21 cargoes of crude were delivered to existing customers in Japan, Korea and Thailand, and to new power company buyers in Japan.
Vitaz, operated by Sakhalin Energy Investment Company, comprises the Molikpaq production platform, a single anchor leg mooring buoy, and the Okha floating storage and offloading unit. Following disconnection of the FSO on Christmas Day, the mooring buoy was laid down on the seabed, in preparation for the winter recess.
