Technip and JP Kenny selected for Greater Gorgon

Chevron Australia Pty Ltd., Greater Gorgon field operator, has issued a letter of authorization to Technip Oceania Pty. Ltd. and JP Kenny Pty. Ltd. (Perth) to begin the front-end engineering, design, procurement, and construction management contract. Technip and JP Kenny are 50/50 joint venture partners for the upstream facilities of the Greater Gorgon field development.

Chevron Australia Pty Ltd., Greater Gorgon field operator, has issued a letter of authorization to Technip Oceania Pty. Ltd. and JP Kenny Pty. Ltd. (Perth) to begin the front-end engineering, design, procurement, and construction management contract. Technip and JP Kenny are 50/50 joint venture partners for the upstream facilities of the Greater Gorgon field development.

The development is 70-140 km offshore Western Australia in 220-1,300 m water depth of the North West Shelf. It includes both the Gorgon and Jansz fields. The fields will supply gas to a 10 million ton per year LNG facility on Barrow Island and to the domestic market on the mainland.

Under the LOA, the joint venture partners will conduct technical studies and planning. They will conduct the work from project offices in Perth, Western Australia.

Chevron, Shell and ExxonMobil are joint venture partners in the Greater Gorgon development, which represents an $11 billion investment.
