Devils Tower restart imminent

(US, GoM)-Pioneer says it is in the process of restarting production from theDevils Tower spar, and production is expected to return to pre-hurricane levels shortly thereafter.

The deepwater platform has been ready to restart since shortly after the passage of Hurricane Katrina, but production has remained shutin while downstream facilities near Venice, Louisiana were repaired and reopened for business, according to Williams Energy.

The spar is located in Mississippi Canyon block 773, 140 mi southeast of New Orleans. The platform is designed to accommodate 60,000 b/d and 110 MMcf/d.

Dominion is operator of the facility with 75% interest, while Pioneer owns the remaining 25%.
