Mounting system
Anderson Greenwood's Instrumentation Products Division (Cheshire, UK) has extended its range of integral manifolds with the launch of a Mounting System, specially designed to comply with Shell's specifications. The new Integral Manifold Mounting System bolts directly onto a standard Shell mounting plate, eliminating the need for additional bracketing and costly pipework modifications.Integrated services
Total Offshore Production Systems, or TOPS (Houston), poses the question, "What does it take to put an offshore project together?" The answer, company officials say, is demonstrated in TOPS recently released capabilities brochure, which describes the company's life of field services.
Portable computer
Laversab (Houston) introduces its Model 4024, a "tool box" style portable industrial computer. The 4024 is fully sealed to NEMA 4/4X standards and designed for use in all outdoor weather conditions, according to the company. The computer comes with a 233 MHz, Pentium CPU, a 12.1-in. 1,500 nit sunlight readable TFT display, a detachable keyboard, mouse, and 4 ISA slots.
Communications
Nautronix (Aberdeen) recently added a new module to its Model 350X DSP based Modular Helium Speech Unscrabler System. The Model 3508 allows interfacing and control of Nautronix Emergency Through-Water Communications Equipment for the unscrambling of helium speech. The mechanism can simplify the control of the communications by the dive supervisor in a potentially serious situation, according to the company.
Perforating technology
Schlumberger Oilfield Services announces PowerJet, the Schlumberger shaped charge system has set a new API record- shattering the industry's 50-in. perforating barrier by shooting 54.1 in. into an API RP43 section 1 test target with the 4 sq-in. HSD gun. PowerJet charges are currently available for 2 1/8-in. Enerjet guns; 2 1/8-in. EnerJet Expendable guns; 1 11/16-in. Pivot Gun; and most HSD guns.Rope cutter
Webtool, the wire rope and cable cutting business of Allspeeds Limited (Lancashire, England), developed for the offshore industries a wire rope cutter for subsea operation, capable of severing wire rope with diameters of up to 15mm. The RCV 115 model joins the RCV75 model, which is already in service. The RCV range is manufactured from plated steel alloy. According to Webtool, the RCV models can withstand hostile environments such as offshore oil installations, gas pipelines, and communications cables.
Screening surfaces
Southwestern Wire Cloth (Tulsa) announces the availability of the new patent pending maXimizeR screen utilizing their patented XR Mesh. Designed with a flat pretensioned style panel atop an arched base, the maXimizeR eliminates uneven pool depth and differential pressure fluids across the screen. It also eliminates the "horseshoe" effect of fluid distribution over the screening area common on crowned hooked type screen surfaces. The screen can be installed on any crowned deck style shaker utilizing the existing tension bolt system or with a quick-change wedge block system.
Axial piston pumps
Mannesmann Rexroth Hydraulics (Cambridgeshire, England) has provided axial piston pumps for supplying hydraulic power to advanced, underwater ROVs, capable of descending to 3,000 meters. The Rexroth A10VSO variable displacement, axial piston pumps are fitted on the Diablo and Demon systems for underwater intervention, survey, and construction duties. The equipment is available in six displacement sizes between 18 cc and 140 cc, for operating pressures up to 350 bar.
FRP piping
Fibercast (Lafayette) announces its complete line of fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) pipe and fittings. Fibercast piping systems provide internal and external resistance without additional coatings. The company warrants its pipe and fittings against any reduction of physical properties and corrosion ratings caused by UV exposure for a period of 15 years.Power solutions
Cyberex (mentor, Ohio) introduces its new version of CyberWavetrademark UPS, industrial, petrochemical, and utility environments. CyberWave UPS is available in nine different kVA ratings between 10-112kVA, all single-phase output. The latest version offers several upgrades, including temperature compensated battery charging and automatic battery equalize are standard. Also, two CyberWave UPSs can now be placed in a cascaded redundant configuration for increased redundancy and system reliability.MFL tool
Pipeline Integrity International (Cramlington, UK) has now added a giant 56-in. high resolution Magnetic Flux Leakage (MFL) Internal Inspection tool to its line. The tool, nicknamed "Big Bertha" is in direct response to the opening of new pipeline markets and customer requests for PII's inspection services.
