Welding and cutting

Esab’s commitment to the offshore and shipbuilding industries dates back 100 years. Today the company is a leading specialist in provision of welding and cutting solutions. Specialties include welding consumables for all processes, integrated cutting systems, narrow gap welding, CTOD requirements, and duplex steels. The company was founded in 1904 by Swedish engineer Oscar Kjellberg, who developed the first flux-coated MMA electrode to solve a specific problem related to ship and boiler repairs. This technology led in time to all-welded ship construction.

Fast detection of gas leaks

GasOptics detects and makes invisible gases visible through its new Gas Vision System. The equipment’s camera system scans for gas leaks continuously and automatically, and when a leak is detected, an alarm is activated and recording of the leak is started. The reliable, Ex-certified system allows the user to pinpoint gas leaks rapidly and to quantify the concentration in different parts of the plume.

Optimized turbine cleaning

Gas Turbine Efficiency (GTE) is a leader in gas turbine engine cleaning and related products, supplying the offshore, marine, industrial and aerospace sectors. Regardless of the application, all `treated’ engines exhibit improved performance when cleaned properly. GTE’s technology is designed to save the operator money, time, and resources, as well as to limit emissions where possible. The company is expanding and now is marketing its technology worldwide.
