Equinor commissions 4D seismic survey over Tyrihans offshore mid-Norway

In the Norwegian Sea, Shearwater GeoServices expects to start acquiring a one-month 4D towed streamer seismic survey over the producing Tyrihans Field, which was newly awarded by operator Equinor.

This is the first awarded under the 2021 frame agreement with Equinor, following a recently confirmed two-year extension. It follows previous 4D campaigns for the company, including over Heidrun offshore Norway and Mariner in the UK’s East Shetland Basin, both of which were completed last year. 

Shearwater will deploy its Amazon Conqueror vessel, using Isometrix technology to capture repeat seismic data over the Tyrihans area. This will help Equinor understand changes to the reservoir over the field and plan its future strategies for optimizing production.
