TGS has attracted industry funding for a new multi-client 3D streamer acquisition and processing project in the Goliat area of the Barents Sea.

The GeoStreamer survey will cover an area of up to 1,600 sq km over discoveries made in recent years by Goliat operator Vår Energi, such as Countach, Elgol and Lupa. It will also expand TGS’ data coverage in this part of the Hammerfest basin.

Shooting for the Hammerfest basin 3D project is set to start in early August.

TGS’ multi-client survey investments totaled more than $100 million during fourth-quarter 2024, the company said in a results update.
