CGG donates reservoir characterization software to Chinese institute

CGG GeoSoftware has donated its Jason, PowerLog, and InsightEarth software suites to the Geoscience and Technology Institute of China University of Petroleum (East China).

PARISCGG GeoSoftware has donated its Jason, PowerLog, and InsightEarth software suites to the Geoscience and Technology Institute of China University of Petroleum (East China).

Students will be able to use the software for quantitative reservoir characterization and inversion techniques.

In Thailand,PTT Exploration & Production Public Co. Ltd. (PTTEP) has renewed its contract with CGG to operate the dedicated processing center (DPC) in Bangkok.

The new contract runs from March 1, 2017 to Feb. 28, 2020.

Since November 2013, CGG has provided processing services, including advanced time and depth imaging, for 2D and 3D seismic data acquired onshore and offshore PTTEP’s operating areas worldwide. The company will also provide in-house processing training, technology, updates and mentoring support to develop PTTEP’s seismic processing experts.
