TRONDHEIM, NorwayElectromagnetic Geoservices (EMGS) has entered into pre-funding agreements for 3D controlled source electromagnetic data surveys in the Barents Sea and Norwegian Sea.

These will employ both conventional technology and the new Deep Blue source, with the data to be acquired this summer.

Combined revenues are around $3 million.

EMGS adds that the joint industry project’s original agreement has been amended to make the Deep Blue source available to the industry, following successful test surveys last summers.

It is said to provide a much higher output compared to the conventional system.

CEO Christiaan Vermeijden said: “Providing the industry with a much stronger source output is a breakthrough for EMGS and our EM technology as we will be more sensitive to deeper targets and smaller targets close to infrastructure.”
