ASKER, Norway --TGS-Nopec Geophysical Co. ASA has begun the first of three programs scheduled for the 2007 Greenland data acquisition season. Upon completion of the schedule, 164,000 km (101,905 mi) of aeromagnetic data and 8,800 km (5,468 mi) of 2D seismic data will have been collected.
The first project, currently under way, is a 62,000 km (38,525 mi) aeromagnetic survey covering Greenland's side of Baffin Bay. That will be supplemented by a 2D seismic program later this summer covering 8,800 km (5,468 mi) including the Canadian side of the Bay. Processed aeromagnetic data results are scheduled to be available in 4Q 2007 with the seismic results available in 1Q 2008.
Additional aeromagnetic acquisition is scheduled for later this summer offshore northeast Greenland for a 4Q 2007 delivery.
