EAGE, London-- Wavefield Inseis ASA is featuring its next generation fiber optic permanent 4C4D ocean bottom cable seismic monitoring system.

Developed in cooperation with Statoil and Optoplan AS, a Weatherford subsidiary, field testing has established the system's optical sensor performance and OBC robustness, Wavefield says. The pilot testing led to the go-ahead to install 200 stations this year.

In addition to the fiber optic sensors, the system has a passive wet-end, no subsea components, and good vector fidelity, Wavefield says.
