ABERDEEN, UK --Offshore Hydrocarbon Mapping Plc.'s new CSEM flagship the OHM Express has set out for its first project which is offshore Norway.

The vessel has modifications which adapt it specifically for deployment on controlled source electromagnetic imaging (CSEM) data acquisition surveys. The 3,200 dwt vessel is 110 m (361 ft) long with handling systems specifically for CSEM sources and receivers. Its propulsion system is designed for low-speed maneuverability.

The vessel has been chartered for five years from Seatrans of Norway, the owner.

"The five year charter of the OHM Express has allowed us to make modifications that not only gives us considerable operational flexibility but also increases the comfort of working conditions for our operational staff," says Dave Pratt, OHM's CEO.
