ASKER, Norway -- Schlumberger has opened its expanded WesternGeco Oslo Technology Center in Norway. The facility offers engineering, testing, integration, and support for proprietary seismic and electromagnetic acquisition technology.

The 400-person capacity center features a marine testing laboratory with complete vessel instrument room, which can be configured to mimic any WesternGeco seismic vessel in service. WOTC also includes an interactive operations center with 24/7 to support for WesternGeco's marine fleet worldwide. Additionally, the center features training facilities.

“Since this technology center was established 15 years ago, we have developed a number of game-changing technologies at the center for both marine and land seismic," said Andrew Gould, chairman and CEO of Schlumberger, at the opening ceremony. "By relocating to a larger facility, we are able to strengthen our commitment to Norway and our relationship with the Oslo."
