Oilex completes offshore Australia 3D interpretation

Oilex Ltd. says the interpretation of 3D seismic data from WA-388-P offshore northwest Australia has identified seven leads ranging in size from 0.3 to 2.8 tcf.

SYDNEY, New South Wales – Oilex Ltd. says the interpretation of 3D seismic data from WA-388-P offshore northwest Australia has identified seven leads ranging in size from 0.3 to 2.8 tcf. The joint venture now is considering options to further delineate the largest lead, named Placanica, for possible drilling.

The survey was taken in an area that is on trend with Pluto, Wheatstone, and Gorgon fields, says Oilex.

JV participants are Oilex as operator, 14%; Sasol Petroleum Australia Ltd., 30%; Videocon Industries Ltd., 14%; Gujarat State Petroleum Corp. Ltd., 14%; Bharat PetroResources Ltd., 14%; and Hindustan Petroleum Corp. Ltd., 14%.
