TRONDHEIM, Norway -- Total and DONG Energy have contracted Electromagnetic Geoservices (EMGS) to acquire 3D electromagnetic data over West of Shetland acreage. The data will be used to de-risk a hydrocarbon prospect.
Work on the survey has started using EMGS' mobile acquisition set deployed from theSiem Mollie, which is on charter through Oct. 21.
The contract value is $1.5 million, and follows a previous 3D EM survey in 2009 that Total used to evaluate decommissioning strategy on its Frigg field in the Norwegian North Sea.
