ASKER, Norway -- TGS has started work on a 1,650-sq km (637-sq mi) high density multi-client 3D seismic survey in the outer Moray Firth off northeast Scotland.
The survey covers open and committed acreage, in an area which TGS describes as prolific for hydrocarbon exploration. Recent discoveries include Nexen’s Golden Eagle, Hobby, Pink and Blackbird.
TGS has contracted the Polarcus Nadia for the survey. The vessel will deploy eight 5,000 m streamers for the acquisition, which should be completed in late-summer. TGS will perform data processing at its imaging center in Bedford, England.
