DUBAI -- Polarcus has taken delivery of its third purpose-built 3D seismic vessel. The Polarcus Asima was built at Drydocks World in Dubai, and is currently in transit to the Russian sector of the Black Sea to begin a charter for Rosneft.

This is an Ulstein SX134 design vessel with an overall length of 92 m (302 ft) and a beam of 21 m (69 ft). Polarcus says it is the first 3D-capable seismic vessel suited for Arctic operations due to its ICE-1A class notation from DNV, double hull, and ballast water treatment system.
The vessel has a maximum speed of 15 knots and can deploy 12 9-km (5.6-mi) long streamers at 100 m (328 ft) separation.
