DUBAI, UAE – The Polarcus Samur will get an upgrade from six to eight streamers, says Polarcus Ltd. The company adds that the $3 million upgrade will not change the 4Q 2010 delivery date scheduled for the geophysical vessel.
After the upgrade, to be done at the Drydocks World - Dubai shipyard prior to delivery of the vessel will be capable of deploying up to eight streamers each of 6,000 m (19,645 ft) length, or six streamers each of 8,000 m (25,245 ft) length, with lateral streamer separations of between 25 and 200 m (82 and 656 ft).
