ABERDEEN, UK -- Core handling specialist Kirk Petrophysics has won a storage contract to support BP’s drilling campaign in deepwater block 31 off Angola.
The company, a subsidiary of Reservoir Group, will handle and store core, cuttings and mud samples collected from around 40 wells.
Following its recent merger with StoreCore, Kirk will use its new base in Guildford, UK, for this program. This employs a tracking and data management system, and provides what Kirk claims is one of the UK’s largest core viewing facilities, giving access to over 2,000 ft (609 m) of core at any one time.
