The Department of Primary Industries of Victoria, Australia, has contracted SeaBird Exploration for a 7,400-m (24,278-ft) survey within the southern flanks of the offshore Gippsland basin covering greenhouse gas storage blocks Gipps-01 to Gipps-03.

LIMASSOL, Cyprus -- The Department of Primary Industries of Victoria, Australia, has contracted SeaBird Exploration for a 7,400-m (24,278-ft) survey within the southern flanks of the offshore Gippsland basin covering greenhouse gas storage blocks Gipps-01 to Gipps-03. TheAquila Explorer began the two-month project on Feb 21.
Following the acquisition, the vessel will move to Southeast Asia to conduct 2D surveys totaling 4,000 km (2,485 mi) over two areas in the Song Hong basin.
In addition, SeaBird’s Munin Explorer has been awarded a two-month contract in the North Sea as a source vessel beginning in June.
The Osprey Explorer has been contracted for an additional 3,000 km (1,864 mi) in direct continuation of its current survey in East India.
Seabird has also received a letter of award for a 5,000-km (3,107-mi) survey in East Africa beginning in April.
