ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- The Proposed Notice of Sale for Beaufort Sea Sale 202 off Alaska's North Slope scheduled for March 2007 was published by the Minerals Management Service.

The notice gives the terms of the sale, proposed sale area, economic incentives, and precautions regarding human, coastal, and marine environments.

The sale area covers 1,877 blocks and totals 9.7 million acres. from the Canadian border to near Barrow, excluding areas used for bowhead whale subsistence hunts by Inupiats.
