DUBLIN, Ireland -- An ocean bottom seismic survey was contracted by Providence Resources Plc. for blocks 48/30 and 49/26 offshore Ireland in the Celtic Sea.

The survey, scheduled for 4Q06 to cover the Blackrock structure, will be performed by the University of Durham, part of the Ocean Bottom Instrumentation Consortium under Gardline Surveys. OBS is based on placing the hydrophone sensors, which are normally towed near the surface, on the seabed.

"The successful use of this highly advanced technology will not only benefit Providence's Blackrock field, but it should also provide an economic means of evaluating other Celtic Sea assets," says Tony O'Reilly Jr, Providence Resources CEO.
