(Tunis) MedOil and TGS-Nopec are to conduct a 600 sq km 3D seismic acquisition survey over part of the Louza permit off central Tunisia. The program will start in July, and will take in the location of an undeveloped oil find, which flowed 118 b/d and 1,200 b/d of 16deg API oil from separate reservoirs.
The directors of MedOil have discussed possible farm-ins to the permit with several majors. MedOil is also in negotiations with the Maltese authorities to extend its Exploration Study Area around Malta. Early this year, the company attempted to broaden portfolio in this region by applying for new exploration licenses next to the Vega oilfield offshore Sicily.
