BILLINGSTAD, Norway -- MultiClient Geophysical (MCG) has begun its first multi-client 2D survey.
The survey covers plays from the Jurassic, Cretaceaous, and Tertiary in the Bjørnøya basin in the Barents Sea. The area is just west of the most popular blocks in the newly awarded 20th Licensing Round in Norway, the company says.
The survey is approximately 3,500 km (2,175 mi) and will be acquired by SMNG's seismic vessel Akademik Lazarev. The vessel was mobilized out of Tromsø on July 11, and has begun acquisition of the survey’s first lines.
