AWE awarded offshore New Zealand permit

WELLINGTON, New Zealand -- Australian Worldwide Exploration (AWE) has been granted permit PEP 51558 in the Taranaki basin, offshore New Zealand.
AWE has named the 2,850-sq-km (1,100-sq mi) permit Parihaka. The company, Mitsui E&P Australia, and Mighty River Power Gas Investments each hold a 33.3% share in the permit.
The partners must acquire 200 km (124 mi) of 2D seismic data in the first two years of the permit term and are required to drill an exploration well within three years.
