Dolphin shows new broadband seismic tool

BERGEN, Norway –The Dolphin Group ASA(OSE:DOLP) has launched SHarp, a combined seismic acquisition and processing broadband product.

Dolphin says the new product increases bandwidth and is AVO-friendly to allow better use of amplitudes for direct hydrocarbon detection.

SHarp does not require special recording equipment. Processing begins on the acquisition vessel and is completed at Dolphin’s UK processing center using OpenCPS software.

Dolphin says the advantages include enhanced subsalt and sub-basalt penetration, better resolution of thin beds, and improved inversion from low frequencies.
