NPD to allot funds for geophysics studies

The Norwegian government plans to allocate $22.6 million next year for geological and geophysical studies offshore Norway.

OSLO, Norway -- The Norwegian government plans to allocate $22.6 million next year for geological and geophysical studies offshore Norway.

This will be used by the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate for mapping, seismic surveys, and other geological data acquisition studies.

The focus will be on areas connected to the Norwegian Sea around Jan Mayen and west of the Norwegian/Russian demarcation line in the Barents Sea.
