3D seismic begins off Sierra Leone
Offshore staff
PERTH, Western Australia – Elixir Petroleum Ltd. has begun 3D seismic data acquisition on block SL-4 offshore Sierra Leone. Plans are to collect 1,222 sq km (472 sq mi) of data to better define leads from a 2D survey in 2003.
"We are delighted to have been able to commence in-field operations so soon after becoming operator of block SL-4," says Andrew Ross, Elixir MD. "We are confident that the 3D data set will lead to the generation of high quality, drill ready prospects which should be available for farm-out to drill in the first half of 2009."
