Hess to acquire 2D seismic off Libya

Amerada Hess has contracted Scan Geophysical to acquire around 4,000 km (2,485 mi) of 2D marine seismic offshore Libya.

OSLO, Norway --Amerada Hess has contracted Scan Geophysical to acquire around 4,000 km (2,485 mi) of 2D marine seismic offshore Libya.

Scan is mobilizing its high-capacity 2D vesselM/V Geo Searcher for this job, which should get under way within the next few days. The vessel recently completed a large 2D program off Pakistan for another major oil company.

During 2008-09, Scan plans to augment its fleet with one 3D vessel, built in 2002, and three new-build 10-streamer 3D vessels.
