HOUSTON -- Hyperdynamics Corp. has signed a new seismic services contract with Bergen Oilfield Services. The 3D seismic program will begin in 4Q 2008, in preparation to drill exploration wells offshore the Republic of Guinea along the West African transform margin.

The 3-D surveys will cover up to 5,000 sq km (1,931 sq mi) of various grids within its 31,000 sq mi (80,290 sq km) concession.

The contract area includes anticlinal structures, angular unconformity pinch-outs, and turbidite fans within the Upper Cretaceous section, the same type structures in which the previous discoveries have been made.

This area, further south along the West African coast, already has at least 40 discoveries and an estimated 8 Bboe of reserves.
