Polarcus has awarded JDR a contract for the supply of airgun umbilical and lead-in cable systems for its fleet of six newbuild 3D seismic vessels.

ROTTERDAM, Netherlands -- Polarcus has awarded JDR a contract for the supply of airgun umbilical and lead-in cable systems for its fleet of six newbuild 3D seismic vessels.
JDR's scope of work includes the supply of 35 km (22 mi) of airgun umbilicals and 65 km (40 mi) of lead-in cable systems. The cable systems will be supplied from JDR's new quayside facility in Krimpen near the port of Rotterdam.
The six-vessel fleet will be completed over the next two years. The first 12-streamer vessel will be operational in 3Q 2009. According to the company, all six vessels will be operational by 2010.
