ROME –The joint industry project to prove the use of fiber optics for reservoir monitoring is scheduled to take the testing to deepwater in the second half of 2008. Stingray Geophysical Ltd. told the European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers today that the test will be conducted with installation and acquisitions partner Bergen Oilfield Services.

"We believe this new technology has the potential to provide lighter, cheaper solutions for use in both shallow and deeper water development," said Giles Watts of BP, one of the JIP partners.

"We are delighted that four major oil and gas companies are continuing to support our program and business," said Martin Bett, CEO of Stingray.
