WELLINGTON, New Zealand --New Zealand plans to open for leasing currently reserved acreage offshore in Taranaki and Cantergury basins, says Harry Duynhoven, associate energy minister, Crown Minerals.

Also, planned release of deepwater acreage in Raukumara (East Cape) and Northland basins also are advancing and Crown-funded data packages will be available before year-end.
