DUBAI, UAE – Polarcus Ltd. cut first steel on a newbuild vessel scheduled for delivery in March 2012.
The vessel, NB292, is the first of two ordered from Ulstein Verft AS. Both are being built to Ulstein SX134 design with an upgraded ice class of 1A Super and increased propulsion.
The 3D vessels will be able to tow up to 14 solid streamers with 100 m (328 ft) lateral separation.
