SUBIACO, Australia – CGGVeritas has completed a marine 3D seismic survey for Cooper Energy over the western portion of the Nabeul permit offshore Tunisia.

The 600-sq km (373-sq mi), full-fold data survey was acquired Sept. 13 – Nov. 15, using CGGVeritas’ high-resolution BroadSeis technology.

According to Cooper, the aims were to mature the Alpha, Gamma, and up-dip La Marsa leads adjacent to the Birsa and Oudna oil fields.

CGGVeritas will process the 3D data in Singapore, and this should be available for interpretation by next summer.

It should allow Cooper and partner Dyas to define and pinpoint the location for a well scheduled to be drilled by 2013.
