Fugro to perform Campos basin pre-development studies

RIO DAS OSTRAS, Brazil --Repsol Sinopec Brasil has contracted Fugro for geophysical, geotechnical, and metocean services.

These will support development ofdeepwater block BM-C-33 in the Campos basin offshore Brazil and associated export routes.
Fugro will supply its newest FSSV65 offshore survey vessel MVFugro Brasilis, and the multi-purpose survey vessel MV Geo Prospector for the campaign, along with an autonomous underwater vehicle.

The geotechnical workscope includes jumbo piston coring, cone penetration testing, and data processing. Fugro will additionally acquire meteorological and oceanographic (metocean) data during a 12-month measurement program.
Block BM-C-33 is in water depths of 2,600-2,900 m (8,530-9,514 ft), 200 km (124 mi) off the coast of Rio de Janeiro state.
