Dolphin wins seismic contract in India, to begin survey offshore Brazil

Dolphin Geophysical AS has been awarded a 3D seismic contract with an undisclosed client in India. Additionally, in partnership with TGS, the company is acquiring a new 3D multi-client survey, Olho de Boi, offshore Brazil.

OSLO, NorwayDolphin Geophysical AS has been awarded a five-month 3D seismic contract with an undisclosed client in India. Additionally, in partnership with TGS, the company is acquiring a new 3D multi-client survey, Olho de Boi, covering 5,000 sq km (1,931 sq mi) in the Campos basin offshore Brazil.

The five-month 3D sesmic survey, located offshore northwestern India, will begin in December with one or several of the company’s 3D seismic vessels.

The Campos survey will be Dolphin's first 3D survey in Brazil, following the company’s 2D survey acquired two years ago.

The survey is designed to image presalt plays in the hydrocarbon rich Campos basin and is northeast of the Pão de Açúcar discovery in an area of similar structural and stratigraphic characteristics.

The seismic data will be acquired by theSanco Swift.
