TGS surveys Nigeria

TGS-Nopec Geophysical announced a non-exclusive 2D seismic survey offshore Nigeria covering blocks OPL 227 and OPL 471. The Ministry of Petroleum Research in Nigeria granted TGS-Nopec exclusive rights to acquire multi-client seismic data over these blocks in shallow waters adjacent to producing hydrocarbon fields. The company claims the project will provide oil companies an opportunity to license and evaluate modern data before a future licensing round. The Gulf Supplier seismic vessel is mobilizing to begin the project. The data will be processed using pre-stack time migration imaging techniques.
