PGS completes North Sea Poseidon 3D survey for Aker BP

LYSAKER, Norway — PGS’ Ramform Atlas has completed acquiring a 3D seismic survey over the Poseidon Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) license EXL005, which is about 100 km offshore in the Norwegian North Sea.

According to license operator Aker BP, the campaign covers more than 500 sq km and was designed to generate high-resolution imaging of the planned CO₂ storage complex and to provide a baseline for monitoring of storage integrity.

Aker BP and OMV (Norge) were awarded the license in March on a 50:50 basis. The work program calls for 3D seismic and related studies, followed by a drill-or-drop decision by May 2025.
