OSLO, Norway – TGS has developed a Facies Map Browser (FMB) for regions offshore India’s east coast.

The project builds on the 2Dcubed seismic data the company’s geoscience teams have compiled over the same areas.

Final results from the east coast India FMB should be available from third quarter this year, providing users with access to well-based stratigraphic interpretation and sequence-constrained facies maps.

TGS will analyze and interpret current well data using a sequence stratigraphic framework harmonized across the basins. Lithological and other log properties can be queried at various levels, the company added, and displayed in table format or on maps.

The detailed Gross Depositional Environment maps have been put together using all available data, including seismic interpretation of the East India 2Dcubed dataset with geological findings based on well analysis.
