OSLO, Norway  PGS’ latest extension of its Congo Vision dataset should increase regional coverage by nearly 50%, the company reported in a late September news release.

Phase 4 reprocessing is underway, and the final reprocessed volume should be available in second-quarter 2023.

The dataset is said to provide a seamless 3D KPSDM seismic volume across the shelf and deepwater areas offshore Congo.

Phases 1 to 3 comprise a contiguous volume of more than 8 900 sq km of broadband data, compiled using reprocessed legacy datasets that underwent modern depth imaging workflows.

Improved data quality has allowed the company to make regional interpretations cross the presalt section.

The projecta partnership with state oil company SNPCwill add 4,220 sq km of rejuvenated KPSDM data to the deepwater area, covering open blocks Marine XIX and Marine XXX.

PGS will match and merge these data with the Phase 1 to 3 product to create more than 13,100 sq km of contiguous, rejuvenated seismic data offshore Congo.
