    PGS to acquire North Sea 3D survey for bp

    OSLO, Norway – bp has contracted PGS to acquire 3D seismic over an area offshore northeast England for a carbon capture and storage project.

    The Endurance reservoir is 145 km (90 mi) from the Teesside coast and 85 km (53 mi) from the Humber coast to the south. PGS will start acquisition in April and complete the program in June.

    Wintershall Dea is calling for a new legal regulation to allow safe offshore storage of CO2 off northern Germany.

    Later this year the company plans to start storing CO2 in the Danish North Sea under a pilot for Project Greensand, supported by the Danish government.
