OSLO, Norway – Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari has signed into law the country’s Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB), 2021.

According to PGS, this includes preferential tax provisions for deep offshore projects and associated exploration activities.

PGS has responded by making available an additional 1,000 sq km (386.1 sq mi) of reprocessed 3D data from block OPL 248, completing its West Niger Delta 2020 Reprocessing package.

The West Niger Delta 2020 reprocessed 3D survey covers blocks OPL 248, 249, 250, 2011, and OML 140, and spans two main structural provinces linked to the gravity-driven movement of the Akata shale formation.

Broadband reprocessing of the 3D data using modern workflows, has improved illumination of complex structures and potential exploration targets, the company added.
