BERGEN, Norway – Shearwater GeoServices will conduct deepwater ocean bottom node (OBN) seismic acquisition for two Petrobras-operated projects in the Santos basin offshore Brazil.

The survey, for the Tupi and Iracema fields, will be the most extensive OBN effort to date in Brazilian waters, the contractor claimed, spanning 2,882 sq km (1,113 sq mi).

Operations will start during 3Q 2021 and should continue for around nine months. Shearwater will use the SW Diamond and one other vessel for the campaign, with deepwater ocean bottom nodes deployed by ROV combined with the company’s 3x3 nine-string triple source array.

Tupi’s program will serve as a base for potential future 4D surveys.
